This page explains what information we collect from users of AlterCam and visitors of our site, how it is used, and which third-party services are involved. We respect your privacy.
Your video and audio stay on your computer
AlterCam processes your webcam video, screen capture, microphone sound and recordings locally on your computer. Effects, virtual background, face detection, voice change and noise suppression all run on your PC. We never receive your video, audio, snapshots or recordings. A file leaves your computer only if you upload it yourself, for example with the Google Drive upload feature, which sends the file directly to your own Google Drive account.
Collected information
Our web server automatically logs technical information provided by your system, such as IP address, browser type and system language. Bolide® Software collects information from our users and site visitors at several different points listed below. We will not sell or rent this information to others.
Usage statistics in the program
AlterCam sends anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics: the program version, Windows version and language, and which features are used (for example, which effects are turned on, or whether recording succeeded). The statistics are linked to a random identifier generated on your computer, not to your name, email or license. When you uninstall AlterCam, it may send an "uninstall" event with its name and version. The program also contacts our server to check for updates.
Error reports
If AlterCam encounters an error, it shows a dialog that lets you send an error report to us. The report contains technical details: the error message, the program and Windows versions, hardware information, and the anonymous identifier described above. The report is sent only if you choose to send it.
Uninstall feedbacks
When you uninstall some of our programs, an uninstall feedback form is shown in your default browser. All fields of the form are optional; you can provide as much or as little information about yourself and your reason to uninstall as you wish. If you do not wish to share any information, close uninstall feedback page in your browser.
Support requests
If you have any questions about our product, site, or company, you can contact us using the support forms on the site or in the program. In this situation, we need some information from you to be able to send our reply. The collected information includes your name, email address, program you want to ask about, version of the program, your operating system, your comments (description of the problem, etc.). You provide the information by entering text or selecting values of the corresponding fields of the form.
If you are a registered user and open the support form from your registered copy of our program, for your convenience your registration name will be sent to our server and filled into the corresponding field. If you prefer to fill out all fields manually, just visit our site and open the support form using the "Contact us" section instead of opening it from the program.
Purchases
Orders are processed by our payment partners: PayPro Global for orders in US dollars and euros, and YooKassa (YooMoney) for orders in rubles. They collect the payment and billing details needed to complete your order; we do not receive or store your card number. We receive your name, email address and order details to send you the activation code and provide support.
Cookies and website analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to measure traffic and improve the site: Google Analytics, Yandex.Metrica, and on some pages Microsoft Advertising (Bing) and Google Ads conversion tracking. These services may set their own cookies and process your IP address and browsing data under their own privacy policies. Our own cookie "bolidetracker" stores an anonymous identifier and the page you came from, so that we can understand which pages lead to downloads and purchases; it expires after 90 days.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on and of Yandex.Metrica with the Yandex.Metrica opt-out add-on.
How is the Collected Information Used?
The information we collect is used to provide and improve our products and services, to answer your requests, to process your orders, and to prevent illegal use of our software. Apart from the service providers named on this page, which process data on our behalf or under their own policies, we do not share collected information with third parties, except when this is necessary to comply with the law. We do not send spam: the email address that you specify in your request or uninstall feedback will be used solely to reply to your request.

Changes
We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time. The most up-to-date document can always be found on our site. We will also inform our registered users of any significant changes, using available means of communication.
